The duchy’s new head of commercial property has been named as Mike Andrews. He will have overall control of the dukedom’s property portfolio. Andrews was recruited from Canmoor Asset Management, where he was a director, and previously worked at Hillier Parker, now CBRE, and DTZ.

Graeme Chalk will be joining as head of project management, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the Duchy’s estates and assets. He has previously worked for the US firm Heery International and retailer Marks & Spencer and joins after 10 years at the urban regeneration specialists Centros.

The team’s two other new members are John Whitehurst, who has been appointed as a consultant with particular responsibility for investments in the North West including Crewe Hall Farm Buildings, 81 Fountain Street and Centenary Park, and Neil Hall, seconded from AMEC as a consultant to provide development planning advice.

Included in Lamber Smith Hampton’s recent nationwide promotion of 28 of its staff are five director level appointments at its Manchester office

Christiaan Flatley, from the valuation department, and Jonathan Such, from property management, have both been made up to directors. The building consultancy section’s James Graham, Adam Jackson, from the office agency, and Ben Roberts, from capital markets, have all been promoted to associate directors.

“This year has marked some important changes at LSH, and we remain committed to the continued success of our talented staff,” said Manchester office head, Abid Jaffry.

After four years as an insolvency surveyor with King Sturge in Manchester, Rachael Ward, is heading south to join chartered surveyors Myddelton & Major’s commercial property department.

Ward will be working from the firm’s Salisbury office where she will be joining partners Phillip Holford, Dean Speer and Simon Lee and administrator Jody Williams to expand the commercial agency team.

Andrew Johnson has accepted a position with one of the largest commercial property teams in the South West. The solicitor, who has specialist knowledge of healthcare developments, has joined Swindon-based Withy King’s 26-strong property division. He previous worked at Bristol law firm Bevan Brittan.

Johnson, who has advised National Health Service trusts on public private partnership developments, also has experience of all types of commercial property transactions including property development, acquisitions and disposals, and landlord and tenant work.
