Newcastle-based Naylors Chartered Surveyors has named Phil Steadman as its latest director. He joins from the local office of real estate adviser DTZ, where he worked for more than 15 years, and will head up the firm’s valuation and lease advisory department.

“Moving to an independent practice has given me the opportunity to manage my own department and I am looking forward to developing and growing the valuations and lease advisory side of the business,” he commented.

“It is an exciting time to join the expanding Naylors team and be part of their ambitious growth plans.”

Naylors — which employs 25 staff across its Tyneside and Teesside offices — has also promoted Simon Taylor, its head of office agency, to director and Dean Clark, from building consultancy, to associate director. Both new directors previously worked for Jones Lang LaSalle until the closure of its Newcastle office two years ago.

The firm says it is already benefitting from the experience and contacts the trio has brought from multinational firms where they acted on behalf of a range of regional and London-based clients.

Angus White is managing director at Naylors. “Phil’s experience in valuations and lease advisory will undoubtedly strengthen our offering and we are delighted to have him as part of the team to build up this department,” he said.

“His appointment, and Simon and Dean’s promotions, form part of our wider business strategy to expand and develop our service lines and strengthen our senior team to enable us to take on larger-scale instructions across all sectors and extend our geographical reach.

“These senior additions complement our existing team of directors who have been integral in successfully growing the business to where it is today in its 25th year,” added White.
