On Sunday 10th of May 2015, Movehut will be entering the Great Manchester Run under the team name #TheMovehutTeam. Since its creation in 2003, the run has attracted over half a million runners in the past 11 years.
Movehut is extremely conscious about what a business can do for charity. The company is raising money for two charities; Douglas Macmillan Hospice and the MND Association.
Douglas Macmillan Hospice is a Cancer Hospice and charity, caring for those with the disease and supporting their families. Movehut employees have seen first-hand how much of an essential service this is, and hopes to help keep the Hospice running.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association funds research into and supports those with MND and their families. This is close to the hearts of employees at Movehut and hopes to raise money to give those with the disease a better quality of life.
Commenting on the event, Jessica Herrington, Social Media Marketing Coordinator, said:
“This is the first time Movehut has taken part in an event like this, and all the staff, especially the runners are very excited to be involved and to be raising money for two very worthwhile causes. This event and our previous Halloween Fancy Dress Day and Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children, are the beginning of a charitable tradition at Movehut. The local area has given us talented employees and resources and we want to give back in any we can.”
A team of eleven members will run for the #TheMovehutTeam, which consists of staff from different departments within Movehut including Harry Stuart, Inbound Marketer, who said, “I’m really looking forward to the Great Manchester Run. It’s a great opportunity to do something that can help people who need it and to get into shape! We are running for two great charities, therefore I will be encouraging family members and friends to donate to help us reach our fundraising goal.”
