South West commercial property consultants Vickery Holman recently held their third annual Trailquest cycling event in aid of Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
The event began at Bissoe Bike Hire and Café, to which the cyclists returned for a pasty and refreshments prior to the drawing of the charity raffle.
In between, a series of checkpoints were scattered between Portreath and Feock, with participants free to find as many (or as few) as they pleased.
Vickery Holman’s Neil Stubbs says that it was a good day for everyone involved; “The event went very well – we were spoilt by the good weather for the third year running and I think all of our staff and guests enjoyed the event.
“We look forward to seeing everybody again next year,” he added
For some Vickery Holman staff, the Trailquest was just the beginning of a summer of sporting fundraising, as they prepare to take part in the JLL Property Triathlon which takes place on Friday 4th July.
This year the industry event will be held at Dorney Lake in Eton – the location of the rowing events during London 2012 -and comprises a 750m swim, a 21km cycling challenge and a 5km run.
The triathlon is one of the biggest in the country attracting both seasoned triathletes and complete novices. To date the event has raised over £1.1 million for charity and, this year, the Samaritans will benefit from participants’ efforts.
