One of the South West’s biggest property consultancies has added two more surveyors to its valuation team. Vickery Holman is crediting the appointments to a surge in business and an “exceptionally high workload”.
The addition of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors accredited Jane Falkner and Alex Woodward to its staff takes the firm’s valuation department to 11 and gives it the biggest team in the region. Both will be based in Vickery Holman’s Plymouth office.
Falkner, who is relocating from its Exeter office, originally starting her career in London before moving back to the South West where she has built up more than 15 years of commercial property experience. Woodward joins after ten years in the property market working in south Devon.
“The enhancement of our team with these recent appointments is taking our Plymouth team from strength to strength,” commented Vickery Holman’s local director and head of surveying, Dennis Venn. “I am confident that the team we have in place now provide a strong level of knowledge and expertise to take our office forward into the emerging market and can support our clients in their property requirements.”
Simon Pallett has been elected chairman of national property consultancy Carter Jonas. A partner in the firm’s Winchester and Newbury offices, he is taking over from John Henniker-Major — who has held the post since 2007 — and who will continue to work at its Northampton office.
“John Henniker-Major has successfully overseen much of the change that has brought us so far in the last ten years,” commented Carter Jonas chief executive, Mark Granger. “This is an exciting time for the firm and we have an ambitious growth strategy in place in order to attract excellent people and to continue to provide the very best service for our clients.”
Commercial property specialist Alison Taylor has been promoted by Buckinghamshire solicitors BP Collins to partner.
Joining the firm Gerrards Cross-based practice in 2012, she worked with both the corporate and commercial teams, and has built up a strong track record in dealing with the sale and management of shopping centres and complex commercial lease transactions. Taylor also specialises in portfolio transactions and freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals.
CBRE’s Manchester office has appointed Neil Mort to head up its North West office agency division — after the team secured more than 40 per cent of all the commercial property service advisor’s deals in the region.
“We are delighted that Neil is joining us at such a great time for our business,” said John Ogden, managing director of CBRE’s North West business. “He will build on the success of the last few years and is one of the very best office agents working in the region, with a strong track record and established relationships with many of our clients.”
