DTZ — the corporate real estate solutions provider — has made six new appointments to its Birmingham-based management team.
Catherine McLoughlin is joining the portfolio management team as associate director from Ashtenne Industrial Fund where she was Midlands regional manager. Also joining the portfolio team, as senior surveyor, is Harmail Bains. She was previously with Colliers International where she was contract manager for the Mitchells & Butlers portfolio. Both McLoughlin and Bains will be providing professional management and asset management services to Calthorpe Estates, one of the largest landowners in Birmingham.
Mike Hickling joins DTZ as a roving facilities manager to look after a number of properties in the West Midlands He will also manage compliance for the Standard Life SIPP Void Properties. Hickling leaves construction consultants Gleeds where he was a chartered quantity surveyor and facilities manager.
Senior surveyors David Clark, David Fee and Peter Boyden will all be joining the retail asset management team at DTZ and will be responsible for driving footfall and increasing revenue at some of the most well-known shopping centres across the Midlands. Clark, formerly head of commercial management at Blue Marble Properties in Worcester, will also have responsibility for managing commercial, industrial and retail leisure stock across the UK.
Ahead of its planned investment drive, Andrew Gould has become a principal at UK urban regeneration specialist Genr8 Developments. Formerly UK chief executive at JLS, he is currently chairman of the UK Green Building Council. “Sustainable development has always been my passion,” said Gould, “now I can make it my business.”
In a separate announcement, Manchester-based Genr8 Developments confirmed that Martin Moore, a former head of PruPIM — now M&G Real Estate — has joined its advisory board.
After 11 years with Prologis, its head of UK operations and senior vice-president, Simon Jenkins, is leaving the global real estate operator and owner.
Since the start of 2013, in addition to overseeing a number of major development schemes in the Midlands and North-West, Jenkins was also responsible for managing the 84 buildings and the operations of the 70 client companies that make up the firm’s UK portfolio.
“Prologis has given me the opportunity to work closely with an amazing group of people both in the UK and elsewhere around the world, but now seems like a good time to look for new challenges,” he said.
Trish Randles has been appointed as a new partner in the real estate team at Chester-based law firm Aaron & Partners. Randles, who has experience in commercial landlord and tenant work, is joining the 100-strong Aaron team from Walker Smith Way, where she was a partner in the commercial property department.
