Hinton Properties — which has developed over one-million square feet of retail, leisure and office space in its 20 year history — has appointed Jon Hinton (pictured) as development director.
Recruited to cope with the buoyant property market, exploit development opportunities and manage the existing development pipeline, Hinton previously worked at the Birmingham property consultancy GBR Phoenix Beard where he was an associate director and part of the office agency team.

The commercial team at Harrogate law firm Raworths has recruited a former northern director of the Federation of Master Builders.
Wakefield-born Phil Parkinson gained more than ten years’ experience in corporate and commercial work, mainly in Yorkshire, before joining the federation in 2011. One of his earliest challenges was overseeing its 2013 root-and-branch restructuring, the organisation’s largest reorganisation since its 1941 inception.
As we’ll as acting as the federation’s regional spokesman Parkinson also led negotiations in the North with key business and local government leaders, including board members of Local Enterprise Partnerships, councils and MPs. For five consecutive years, he presented a seminar on commercial law to 40 elite entrepreneurs selected by the main Yorkshire Universities.
Commenting on his property team’s latest member, Raworths partner Simon Morris said: “Phil’s unique mix of industry experience and specialist legal knowledge fits perfectly with our ethos of providing practical and expert advice to our commercial clients.”
Birmingham-based FleetMilne Property has announced a switching of duties for its two senior executives.
The change to the management structure sees the promotion of 35-year-old Ben Evans to managing director, with founder, Nicola Fleet-Milnetaking on the role of commercial director after 10 years in charge of the independent property firm.
Evans joined FleetMilne Property — set up by Fleet-Milne in 2004 — from estate agents Wolfs to take on the role of lettings manager at the rapidly expanding firm. By 2009 he had risen through various posts to take on the role of operations director.
“After starting-up the business and leading it through 10 successful years, I feel very strongly that Ben truly deserved this promotion, and a shift in responsibilities would benefit our landlords, tenants, and the wider interests of the business,” Fleet-Milne explained.
An additional promotion sees Jennie Dale, who joined the firm last year as office manager and personal assistant promoted to associate director with responsibility for recruitment and operations, and the internal management of the firm.
With more than 25 years’ experience in the property market, Brian Bentley has joined CP Bigwood’s commercial management team in Birmingham as a new partner.
Moving from BNP Paribas Real Estate, where he was a senior director, Bentley managed portfolios for companies such as Sainsbury’s and Royal Mail alongside new business development. He was also a regional property manager for Barclays Bank for a number years and head of strategic analysis for BDG McColl in London.
