Commercial property consultants Bruton Knowles have been appointed to market one of the last remaining development opportunities provided by the regeneration of Gloucester Docks.
Gloucester City Council is seeking a developer or occupier to refurbish 27-29 Commercial Road overlooking the Victoria Basin and William Matthews, of Bruton Knowles, says that “an innovative and sympathetic approach” is required on the renovation of the landmark Grade II listed building.
He continues “27-29 is one of the last buildings available to restore within Gloucester Docks and once completed will afford fantastic views over the Docks Basin. The property offers a range of potential uses subject to planning and listed building consent.”
“Built during the mid-1800s as merchants offices with frontage on to Commercial Road dressed in ashlar stone – 27-29 Commercial Road will be familiar to many as it occupies one of the key locations around the docks.”
Over recent years, Gloucester Docks has seen substantial regeneration with new homes and shops completed adjacent to the waterfront, as well as Gloucester Quays Outlet Centre that recently received a £400 million investment from owners Peel Group. The centre now includes 10 restaurants and a selection of shops as well as recently relocated Tidal Lagoon and Lucy Warehouse.
27-29 Commercial Road is for sale by informal tender, with the best bids for the Freehold being submitted by 12 noon on Tuesday June 30. For further details contact William Matthews on 01452 880 000 or William.Matthews@brutonknowles.co.uk
