Auction House has had a great year which closed with a busy diary for the award winning property auctioneers.
On 10th December Auction House North East hosted two property auctions raising a total of £1,642,750.
The bidding began at Newcastle Racecourse where 20 lots were on offer. Three of these were sold prior to auction and another 10 lots were sold in the room. Along with a further lot which was sold after the auction, this added up to a 70% success rate.
Later in the day a further 16 lots were on offer at the Hardwick Hotel in Stockton-On-Tees of which an impressive 82% were sold. This comprised 2 lots sold prior to auction and further 11 lots which were sold in the room, to conclude a hugely successful day.
Auction House East Anglia was equally as busy last week with auctions on the 11th and 13th of December. The first event took place at the De Vere Dunston Hall Hotel where 74% of the 23 lots on offer were sold, raising a total of £1,828,750.
In the second auction, at the Dukes Head Hotel Kings Lynn, 67% of the 9 properties going under the hammer were sold raising £307,500.
It was a very good last auction of the year for Auction House Devon and Cornwall with bidders flying in from Europe and the USA. When proceedings drew to a close, an unbeatable 100% of the lots on offer had been sold. Auction House Devon and Cornwall is now looking forward to 2014.
A milestone was reached at Walsall Football club last week when Auction House Birmingham & Black Country sold Auction House’s 2,500th property in a room packed with over 300 bidders.
The property was a two bedroom dilapidated bungalow with a guide price of £120,000 which sold for £180,000.
Overall, 16 of the 18 lots on offer were sold equating to a success rate of 89% on the day and contributing to a superb 93% for the year.
Also enjoying a good week was Auction House London, whose property auction at the Everyman Theatre NW3 saw a huge 98% of the 41 lots offered sold raising £6,901,850. This contributed to an average success rate for 2013 of an impressive 89%.
At the Blue Mountain Golf Club in Bracknell, 23 lots were on offer from Auction House Berkshire. Two lots were sold prior to auction and a further 18 were sold in the room representing a percentage sold of 87% and raising £4,754,300.
Also achieving a great 87% success rate was Auction House Lancashire, which sold 25 out of the 29 lots on offer at Preston North End Football Club. This auction raised £1,573,000.
The National Space Centre was the venue when Auction House Leicester sold 78% of the nine lots on offer for a total £911,000.
At the Etihad Stadium, Auction House Manchester sold a total of 80% of 39 lots on offer, raising £3,010,750 in the process.
On 12th December at the Hilton Hotel, Milton Keynes, Auction House Beds and Bucks sold 59% of the 12 lots on offer raising £1,046,000.
Finally, Auction House’s last property auction of 2013 took place in Ipswich on Tuesday where Auction House East Anglia was, once again, the host selling 6 out of the 8 lots on offer. This brought the total national sales for the year to 2,568 representing a very impressive success rate of just under 80%.
As 2013 draws to a close, it’s clear that it has been a very successful year for Auction House and there is no reason to believe that 2014 won’t be even better for the UK’s number 1 residential and top 5 commercial property auctioneer.
