The past two weeks have been a busy period for Auction House as the 2014 schedule kicked off in earnest.
Bidding was brisk at a number of property auctions at venues as far apart as Ipswich and Carlisle.
One of the highlights was the auction staged by Auction House West Yorkshire at the home of Leeds United Football Club on February 5th where 93% of the 42 lots offered were sold, raising a total of £3,299,000.
After the auction they tweeted that they were “delighted with the result” and that they have now sold an impressive 122 lots out of the last 130 they have offered.
Other auctions in the same week were held in Manchester, Gloucester and Preston.
Last week Auction House East Anglia had a full diary, hosting three auctions in the region in the space of three days. The first was at the Dunston Hall Hotel in Norwich where 81% of the 31 lots offered were sold raising over £3m.
They followed this by raising £237,500 at the Holiday Inn in Ipswich, before ending the week by raising a further £468,250 at the Dukes Head Hotel in Kings Lynn on Valentine’s Day.
Auction House North East hosted two auctions on the same day last week raising a total of over £878,000. The first of these was held at Newcastle Racecourse followed by another at the Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield.
Also hosting two auctions on the same day was Auction House Cumbria. The first auction was at Carlisle Racecourse which raised £843,000.
Later they succeeded in selling five out of the eight lots offered at Coronation Hall in Ulverston, raising a further £357,000.
