The UK’s number one residential and top five listed commercial auctioneer, Auction House, held three property auctions last week.
On Thursday 28th November, Auction House Cumbria was the host as bidding began at Carlisle Racecourse.
A total of 40 lots were on offer of which three were sold prior to the auction. Along with the 32 lots sold in the room, this represents a success rate of 88 per cent and raised a total of £2,008,600.
Among the highlights of the auction was a detached bungalow in High Harrington with a guide price of £85,000. This lot attracted a great deal of interest and following competitive bidding, the property was sold for £101,500.
The following day, Auction House Cumbria was once again the host as the bidding switched to Ulverston’s Coronation Hall.
Here 25 lots were on offer, of which 19 were sold. This represents another healthy success rate of 76% and raised a total of £1,051,500.
Among the highlights of this auction was a dilapidated country property with significant redevelopment potential. This lot easily exceeded the guide price of £75,000, eventually selling for a very satisfying £124,000.
Auction House Stephenson & Son also held a modest auction, featuring just three lots, at York Auction Centre.
The next property auction to be staged by the Auction House of the Year is at the Hilton Northampton Hotel on Wednesday 4th December at 11.00 am. Click here for more information and to browse the lots on offer.
