Industry award winner Auction House has staged over 170 auctions throughout the UK in 2013 as the company continues to add to its number of auction rooms.
Last Wednesday Auction House Devon and Cornwall was the host as 12 lots were offered at the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock.
Two lots were sold prior to the auction while a further 6 were sold in the room resulting in a 67 per cent success rate. Together they raised an impressive total of £1,189,500.
Among the lots attracting competition among bidders was a rural property close to Saltash. The detached cottage is set in 3 acres of land containing a small range of outbuildings which include a barn a cow house and a garage.
The lot had a guide price of £200,000 – £225,000. This was easily exceeded as the bidding commenced, with the gavel finally going down on a bid of £242,500.
An adjoining 2.83 acre parcel of land was also on offer as a separate lot. This had a guide price of £15,000 – £20,000. Again, interest from bidders saw this exceeded with the lot finally selling for £28,000.
Another lot attracting interest was a building plot in Launceston. The land has planning consent for a three-bedroom dormer bungalow and entered the auction with a guide price of £50,000 – £65,000. Competitive bidding led to the lot selling for £71,000.
Auction House East Anglia also hosted a property auction last week but, at the time of writing, the results were unavailable.
On Tuesday 12th November Auction House will be hosting an auction at Gainsborough Golf Club in Lincolnshire. Click here for details of the lots on offer.
