Auction House celebrates ‘Phenomenal Results’ as this year’s sales hit £36m

Auction House continues to enjoy a strong start to 2014 following another week of excellent results.

The bidding began at the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock on Wednesday where Auction House Devon and Cornwall had three lots on offer.

One of these was sold prior to auction and the remaining two were sold in the room, raising a total of £302,500.

One of the lots sold was a retail property in Liskeard with a rental income of £10,000 pa and a yield of 8.62%

Later the same day Auction House South Lincolnshire and East Leicestershire hosted a property auction at the Belton Woods Hotel.

Two lots – a semi-detached cottage in Thornton-le-Fen and a semi-detached house in Boston – were sold, raising £135,000 for the vendors.

The following day the Everyman Cinema NW3 was the venue when Auction House London offered 72 lots for sale.

Nineteen of the lots were sold prior to auction and a further 46 were sold in the room, raising an impressive £13,221,800. Among the lots sold were several plots of land.

Finally Auction House Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire hosted an auction at the Hilton Hotel Milton Keynes where a total of 12 lots were sold raising a total of £1,273,000.

Contributing to this 93% success rate were a number of industrial properties in Huntingdon.

Following the auctions, Auction House tweeted that the week had contained some “phenomenal results” and that, already this year, 325 lots have been sold raising over £36m.
