Braemar Estates — the property management division of the Brooks Macdonald Group — has named Diana Turner as the new business development manager at its Cheshire head office.
With more than eight years’ experience in the property management sector, she takes up her Hale post after leaving urbanbubble where she led the new business team as property integration manager.
Turner has also co-ordinated teams of up to 20 people overseeing the sales, refurbishment and maintenance of both commercial and residential property portfolios in various roles with MCR Property, LPM Global and MMW Investment.
At Braemar, whose assets include Beetham Tower in Manchester (pictured) and One Park West in Liverpool, she will report to Richard Andrews, who was appointed head of business development earlier this month.
“Diana’s impressive business development credentials make her an excellent addition to our growing team,” said Chris March, chief executive at Braemar Estates. “Her understanding and experience of the property management industry in the North of England will be invaluable as we continue to build our presence in the region.”
After a year which saw the revenue of its property litigation team double, Langleys Solicitors in York has appointed Kelly Kirby as an associate.
She joins the firm from DWF in Leeds where Kirby specialised in commercial, residential and agricultural property disputes and claims. Among her clients were supermarket chain Morrisons, the Co-operative Group and Barratt Homes.
Her role at Langleys — which employs almost 400 staff across its two offices and recorded revenues of more than £20m to the end April — will be to develop the firm’s commercial and agricultural client base.
Included in a round of 13 advancements among its North West surveyors, real estate manager Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) has made eight promotions within its commercial and retail property divisions.
From its planning and development team, Adam White and Joanna Gabrilatsou are now local directors. Tom McWilliams becomes an associate director and Alexandra Eatough a senior planner.
Tom Powell from the out-of-town retail and leisure team has become a local director, while Alistair Greenhalgh is now senior vice-president in the hotels and hospitality group and Lucy Davies becomes a senior surveyor for property and asset management. The consultancy’s retail management business also sees Jessica Spears promoted to property manager.
The Leeds office of global property consultancy Knight Frank has appointed 29-year-old Richard Hunter to its valuation team. He joins from DTZ in the city, where he spent two years as a member of its valuation services division. Hunter has also worked for Yorkshire chartered surveyors Grice and Hunter.
National law firm Shoosmiths — which boasts an £87m annual turnover — has added Brian Hession to its Birmingham-based real estate team as a senior associate.
A commercial property specialist with expertise in development, investment, funding and leasing, he joins from the niche Gloucester property firm Davies & Partners, where he was head of commercial property. Hession previously worked at Eversheds for 11 years in its Birmingham and Paris offices.
