A development company with one of the biggest project pipelines in the north of England has appointed a new managing director and group finance director.
Myles Hartley — who has been a director with Wetherby-headquartered Caddick Developments since 1997 — will now oversee the company’s continued expansion. Its £1bn development order book already includes Wakefield’s Cross Point industrial scheme, residential projects in Manchester and York, and the Quarry Hill and City One projects in Leeds.
Group chairman, Paul Caddick, commented: “We are seeing renewed confidence in the property sector and we have ambitious growth plans which will see Caddick expand across the sectors where we are currently operating.
“There are a number of exciting projects in the pipeline so it’s an encouraging time for Caddick as we look to maintain our position as the largest developer in Yorkshire and the North West,” he added.
As part of an ongoing restructuring programme Caddick, which employs 330 staff across its offices and project sites, has also named Paul Bullers as its new group finance director. A qualified chartered accountant, he has been with the firm for almost 20 years. His role will now involve overseeing the finance department and handling day-to-day accounting and taxation matters.
Knight Frank has recruited Ian McCarter and Tim Atherton to its London West End office agency team.
McCarter has previously been with CBRE for 14 years where he was a senior director. He is joining the estate agent and property consultancy as a partner, focusing on leasing and development consultancy.
Atherton has been recruited from Carter Jonas where he worked in its central London offices team on tenant representation. In his new role as an associate at Knight Frank he will represent tenants in the capital’s West End, specialising in office acquisitions and relocations.
Former CPBigwood commercial property manager, Jeremy Williams, has joined the Birmingham-based chartered surveyors Johnson Fellows as a senior surveyor.
“Jeremy already has an impressive background as a surveyor and, because we have never been busier, we needed someone of his calibre who could hit the ground running,” explained Neil Wetherell, the firm’s partner in charge of its property management department. Last year, Johnson Fellows took over Salway Bradbury, based in Solihull.
Williams has more than ten years’ experience in the commercial property sector and has managed single and multi-let properties including shopping centres, industrial and office buildings.
Shrewsbury-based estate agents, Cooper Green Pooks, has appointed Alessio Dyfnallt as the new director of its commercial property department.
A member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), he has nine years’ experience working mainly within Shropshire and mid-Wales. During that time Dyfnallt has acted on behalf of a range of clients including PLC’s, large pension funds, self-invested personal pensions, local authorities as well as private individuals and investors.
An expert in commercial disputes between landlord and tenant has been promoted to the property team at Hull-based law firm Andrew Jackson.
Newly appointed partner, David Dixon, joined the practice as a trainee in 2001. He qualified two years later and has “substantial knowledge and expertise” in issues concerning dockland and riverside property transactions through working for one of the UK’s largest corporate landlords involved in ports and infrastructure. He has also had experience dealing with a broad range of property matters for one of the country’s international airports.
