Zerum — the property consultancy founded by former Manchester United and England international Gary Neville — has completed three new signings.
Brendan Caloe is joining the project management team as construction director. With more than 25 years’ experience in the industry, he has been hired to develop the Manchester-based company’s construction consultancy team. Caloe has previous held senior positions with Signature Developments, Hurstwood Construction and Eric Wright Group.
Harry Courtney Smith has also recently joined the project management team as a graduate project manager and electrical engineer Nicholas Street has been hired to boost the planning division.

Birmingham-based Anthony Collins Solicitors has announced that property specialist Rob Hallott is now one of its 26-strong partnership.
Since he joined the practice as a solicitor 10 years ago Hallott, who works in the built environment department, has advised on several multi-million pound developments as well as property financing projects nationwide, acting for both private developers and occupier clients with large property portfolios.
Hampshire commercial property specialists Hughes Ellard has appointed 27-year-old George Wise as its new senior negotiator.
Joining the property industry as a 16-year-old straight from school he has focused his career on the office, retail and industrial sectors, and joins the Fareham and Southampton-based agency from Acer Real Estate in London. Wise also had a nine-year spell at Richard Susskind & Company.
After recruiting 65 staff to its various departments during 2014, property and engineering consultancy WSP has started the New Year with two additional senior appointments.
Rob Williams is joining the group from American engineering company CH2M Hill as technical director in WSP’s Leeds-based infrastructure business and Kevin Stubbs arrives from service provider Mouchel’s Middlesbrough office as environment technical director.
DSG — the Bolton quantity surveyor and building Information modelling specialist — has made two key promotions.
The firm, which also has offices in Newbury and Coventry, has promoted Bernadette Lord to commercial director and equity partner. She joined DSG in 2013 and has largely been responsible for the phenomenal growth in business at the Bolton office, which has increased fourfold in just 18 months.
DSG has also appointed Kerry Dodds as its businesses operations director. Previously an associate, she will now be responsible for the delivery of projects and to maximise existing relationships with DSG’s national client list which includes many of the country’s leading contractors, architects and developers.
Responding to an increase in its commercial property business, law firm SM Commercial — a trading arm of Simpson Millar — has announced two new Leeds office appointments.
Matthew Walsh, who has held positions as head of commercial property in the city with Winston Solicitors and Emsleys Solicitors, has joined the firm as an associate. And existing associate, Lyndon Campbell, has been promoted to partner.
