The upturn in the regional markets has accelerated during 2014, with reports from around the country confirming the recovery.
Among the latest to report a busy year are Bracknell and Maidenhead based commercial property agents Page Hardy Harris and Fryer Commercial who have both enjoyed high levels of activity during the last 12 months.
Confidence in the local market has been so high that Simon Fryer reports office take up in Bracknell has exceeded that of nearby Reading by two or three times.
This is illustrated by the arrival of Honda UK, which has recently taken 70,000 sq ft at Reflex, and Gym Group who have agreed a 15 year lease in a landmark building overlooking Bracknell’s twin bridges roundabout. Wincor and Shortel have also recently completed relocations.
Nick Hardy says that Page Hardy Harris have never been busier and have completed around 100 commercial property transactions in the year to August 2014. These deals involve 277,000 sq ft across the office, industrial and retail sectors.
In recognition of this Page Hardy Harris has been named The Most Active Agent in Berkshire 2014 by a leading industry publication, while Director James Page was recognised as the most active individual deal maker in the county.
Page Hardy Harris and Fryer Commercial also report that local developer Campmoss has embarked on the first phase of redevelopment of Market Street.
This will deliver a new retail scheme which has already secured commitments from a wide mix of businesses including retailers, estate agents, restaurants and take away food outlets.
